Saiho-ji Temple, Beyond the Moss πΏ
βͺοΈ Thanks to the reservation system, the number of visitors is controlled within each time slot ππ’ . During your two-hour visit, you won't experience the overcrowding like at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, where your photos are filled with people. πΈπ If you're willing to wait a bit, you can capture scenes of the temple all to yourself. Although it's hard to get a reservation, the experience is definitely worth it once you do. ππ’ Otherwise, they wouldn't charge you 4,000 yen. πΏ πΈπβͺοΈ It takes about fifty minutes to get to Saiho-ji Temple from Kawaramachi. In Kyoto, where there are so many temples to choose from, this journey might not seem worth the time. ππ’ However, considering that it connects to Arashiyama in the north and is close to Katsura Imperial Villa in the east, visiting them together makes for a substantial itinerary. Unfortunately, Katsura Imperial Villa is also hard to reserve, so the plan to visit both temples in the western part of Kyoto feels a bit thin. In the end, guided by bus number 73, I arrived at Saiho-ji Temple via the bell insect temple station, following the sound of the Saiho-ji River to the main gate, the Gate of Wondrous Dharma. πΏ πΈπ #Kyoto πΏ
