Salt Lake City|A Peruvian Gem I Wish I'd Discovered Sooner! 🍋❤️
Tired of Chinese food and craving something different, I found Siempre Peru on Google Maps—close to home with great reviews. Now I’m hooked! I’ve been back four times already—Peruvian cuisine is full of delightful surprises! 😋 🐟🦑🦐 CEVICHE MIXTO A Peruvian classic—raw fish, squid, and shrimp marinated in tangy lime juice until “cooked” by acidity. Served with giant Peruvian corn 🌽 (sweet, texture between corn and sticky rice) and a soft, sweet potato 🍠. Refreshing and appetizing—a must-order every time! 🐚 CHOROS A LA CHALACA (Cold Mussel Salad) Another favorite appetizer! Steamed mussels topped with onions, tomatoes, Peruvian corn, chili, lettuce, and lime dressing. They even give an extra side of veggies—so generous! Light, tangy, slightly sweet, and juicy—even fresher than the ceviche. Choose from 8, 10, or 12 mussels. 🐠 VUELVE A LA VIDA (Seafood Cocktail) Similar to ceviche but with finely chopped seafood—fish, mussels, squid. Bright and zesty. 🫕 CHUPE (Peruvian Seafood Chowder) Rich, cheesy broth with a soft-fried egg, big chunks of Peruvian cheese, seafood, veggies, and rice. More like a main course—huge and deeply comforting after a day of skiing! 🏂 🐟🧀 PESCADO A LO MACHO (Fried Fish & Seafood Rice) My favorite main! Creamy yellow chili and milk sauce loaded with seafood and served over rice, topped with a crispy fried fish fillet. You can choose your spice level—the house chili sauce is served on the side to cut through the richness. Similar to Chupe but thicker and even more flavorful—I could eat two bowls of rice with this! If you love cheese but prefer something lighter, go for Chupe. 🍗 ARROZ CON POLLO (Chicken & Rice) Pretty average—slow-cooked, not grilled or fried, so the texture fell flat for me. Not recommended. 📝 Tip: Scan the QR code on the table to view the menu, then order with your server. For appetizers, I’d pick CEVICHE MIXTO over the others—it’s the star! 💰 ~$30 per person 📍 Siempre Peru 8475 State St, Sandy, UT 84070 #SaltLakeCity #SLCFood #PeruvianCuisine #FoodReview #SeafoodLover #LatinFood #HiddenGem
