đSalt Lake Cityď˝Food Reviewď˝Emigration Cafe â
Iâve passed by this place countless times but never felt tempted to go in. With my years of food-exploring intuition, these types of restaurants usually offer zero surprises đ . Actually, I originally planned to eat at Nomad across the street, but it was closed, so I ended up here. It was better than expected, but with so many great restaurants around, I probably wonât return. âď¸ ââPear & Prosciutto Pizzaââ đ I really liked the crust! Softer than typical Italian pizza doughâin baking terms, itâs âbreadierâ đĽ. The menu says itâs a Roman-style âPinsa,â similar to Neapolitan pizza but with more rice flour, making it easier to digest. This was my first time hearing about it! Did some research: traditional pizza uses wheat flour, while Pinsa blends rice flour, soy flour, and wheat flour, fermented longer and baked at lower heat. Result? Softer texture, healthier, and great for gluten-sensitive folks. ââShrimp Scampiââ đ¤ I ordered this mainly because the menu said it came with homemade Bucatini (a hollow, chewy pasta)âwhich is rare, as itâs usually served with Linguine or similar. But it arrived with Fettuccine đâcompletely different texture, and definitely not homemade. The flavor was layered and decent, but they shouldâve informed customers about the change. Since my little one is a picky eater, I often order extra options hoping heâll eat more. So I got ââMac n Cheeseââ as a side. âââ Also ordered ââLemon Rice Soupââ because he loves rice. This soup was a disasterâthe most confusing thing Iâve eaten in years. It tasted like $8 dishwater with undercooked rice đ¸đ¤˘. This area has many hip-but-average restaurantsânot bad, but not memorable either, and pricing isnât budget-friendly. In comparison, downtown Salt Lake City restaurants offer much higher quality and consistency, with flavors that actually match the stylish vibe. #LifeAbroad #MyLifeOverseas #DocumentingLifeAbroad #SaltLakeCity #SLCFood #SaltLakeEats #Utah #LifeInSLC #FoodReview #WeekendEats #SLCFoodReview #MyFoodDiary #FoodShare #FoodieUSA #Inspiration #UtahFood #WeekendPlans #DailyFood
