📍Salt Lake City|Hidden Korean Gem 🇰🇷 | Jang Soo Jang

A long-running restaurant operated by an elderly Korean couple 🇰🇷—it’s been nearly ten years since my first visit! I was initially drawn by their spicy seafood noodle soup and their unwavering commitment to quality 🍜❤️. Every time I order takeout, they kindly remind me to pick it up within ten minutes so the noodles stay perfect. The front used to be managed by their daughter-in-law, but now with limited staff, the grandmother handles orders and payments while the grandfather runs the kitchen 👵🧑🍳. As an introvert, I love the peaceful, no-fuss dining vibe. If you’re in a hurry, you can walk up to the counter to order and pay. Friendly reminder: They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and side dishes are not refillable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Galbi Tang (Short Rib Soup) 🍖 It looks simple but is incredibly rich and nourishing—so good it’ll make your eyebrows rise! 😲✨ I finish every last drop of the broth. The short rib is tender and flavorful. If it feels slightly heavy, a bite of kimchi cuts through perfectly 🥬. I love soaking my purple rice in the soup—raise your hand if you’re a fellow soup-over-rice lover! 🙋‍♀️🍚 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sundae Gook (Korean Blood Sausage & Offal Soup) 🍲 I’ve raved about this in another must-try Utah restaurant guide! It includes blood sausage and pork stomach, and the broth has a uniquely delicious flavor you won’t find anywhere else. Korean blood sausage tastes completely different from Northeastern Chinese style—it’s not gamey at all, so don’t be scared! Definitely give it a try 🐖💫. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cham Pong (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup) 🍜 Available only on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Not sure if it’s just clever marketing, but before COVID I used to eat this two or three times a month! Later I found that Paik's Noodle / Hong Kong Banjum offers even better spicy seafood noodles. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Galbi Jjim (Braised Short Rib with Onion and Potato) 🥘 You can add rice cakes or udon. The sauce is slightly sweet, but it pairs wonderfully with cucumber side dishes 🥒! The meat is fall-apart tender, while the tendons add a pleasant chew. Even though it comes with purple rice, I couldn’t resist adding udon—soaking up that rich sauce with carbs is just perfection 🍜💖. Tip: Simmer for 2 minutes then turn off the heat, or it can reduce too much and become overly sweet. ⭐️⭐️ Hot Pot The only disappointing experience in all my years visiting—mostly cabbage with only a few shreds of meat. Not recommended. #SaltLakeCity #SLCFood #SaltLakeEats #FoodieUSA #LifeInSLC #FoodDiscovery #WeekendEats #SLCFoodReview #MyFoodDiary #FoodShare #Inspiration #UtahFood #WeekendPlans #DailyFood #LunchToday
