Salt Lake City|Year-End Foodie Recap 👉🏻 Places I Won’t Go Back To
Another year of eating and drinking happily has flown by — tried lots of new spots this year. Maybe because I’ve been in the US for a while, my tolerance for "just okay" food has increased — even if a place isn’t great the first time, I often give it a second chance. But this list is for spots I really don’t want to visit again. Just my personal take — use it as a reference! 🚩 Oasis Cafe A well-known brunch spot in SLC, recommended by many locals. We even had to wait in line. I tried the popular German Pancake — a dense, baked cake that even this sweet-lover had to call not good. Overall experience was very meh. 🚩 Copper Common Another SLC classic bar — I loved its sister restaurant Copper Onion, so we tried this spot on Halloween. Big disappointment: food lacked flavor and aroma, left me feeling empty afterward. If you want to eat, go to Copper Onion first, then come here for drinks. Avoid the Space Odyssey cocktail — it’s bad. 🚩 Huhot Mongolian Grill So dirty it scared me! The buffet area’s hygiene was… indescribable. I grabbed food anyway, waited in line to have it grilled, then couldn’t bring myself to eat it — paid and left. 🚩 Braza Grill Just don’t go! If you want Brazilian barbecue, head straight to Tucanos — it outshines Braza in every way. Braza has fewer meat options, everything was overly salty, and it’s more expensive than Tucanos. Left feeling nothing but regret. 🚩 Oh Mai Sandwich Kitchen A pho chain — the one near me has already closed 😂 Their pho tasted super weird — like Chinese herbal medicine. The noodles had a strange, gelatinous texture, and the meat options were limited (just beef balls and slices, no tripe or tendon). Made me question life while eating. If you’re known for banh mi, at least don’t mess up pho this badly… Feel free to share your own food letdowns this year — let’s dodge the pitfalls together! #SaltLakeCityFood #SaltLakeCity #Utah #GlobalFoodies #RestaurantWarnings #YearInReview
