I’ve always loved Spanish food—whether it’s Mediterranean seafood or Iberian pork from the mountains, every dish tells a story through flavor and ingredients. Today we’re trying Mar Muntanya in SLC—its name reflects the essence of Spain: Mar = sea 🌊 Muntanya = mountain ⛰️ 🦪 M | M Oysters We started with oysters—small but sweet and meaty. Served with beef tartare and two sauces (cocktail + a brown sauce), both delicious. A squeeze of lemon made it perfect. 🥘 Paella Spanish seafood rice with seafood and chorizo. The mussels were tender and impressive, chorizo flavorful. Though the website says 4–6 servings, it’s really enough for 2 people. Note: Requires advance reservation online. 🥬 Crispy Brussels Sprouts My favorite dish of the night! The Brussels sprouts were incredibly sweet and crispy, paired with pomegranate seeds for layered sweetness. Also included Iberian pork—rich and fragrant without being greasy. 🐙 Octopus Asador Marinated for 24 hours, grilled crispy outside and tender inside, served with creamy mashed potatoes. My friend’s favorite ❤️ 🥃 Drinks We tried a Spanish sparkling wine and a white wine—both excellent and complemented the food beautifully. 🌱 Ambience Cozy dark-toned decor with leather-bound menus. The night view of downtown SLC is stunning 🌃. 📌 Note: Their dinner menu is Spanish, but brunch is more American-style.
