📍Salt Lake City 🇮🇹 Cucina Toscana
Friends who’ve recently moved to Salt Lake might not know this, but a decade ago, SLC was truly a mountain village 🏔️—with very few standout restaurants. Cucina Toscana was one of the rare gems back then. So today’s feature isn’t just about the food—it’s a tribute to a local legend 🙏✨. If you often visit Downtown, it’s hard to miss their row of dark green checkered floor-to-ceiling windows. The red brick building 🧱 was once a Firestone tire shop 🛞. After changing hands over the decades, it’s now one of Salt Lake’s most beloved Italian restaurants—popular for over 20 years! Fun fact: The owner is also on the board of the Draper Aquarium 🐟. The interior has a speakeasy vibe 🕴️🍸, and the staff are polite and professional. Some salads and main courses are prepared tableside using a serving cart 🥗🔪. Plus, their wine list 🍷 is impressive—no surprise, since they were named one of Salt Lake’s Top 3 Italian restaurants in 2019 🏆. Their dishes are classic Italian—lasagna, Carbonara 🍝, and other traditional items are executed flawlessly. My personal favorite is the Veal with Oyster Mushrooms and White Truffle 🍄⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️—tender veal in a rich mushroom sauce, perfectly paired with Chianti. Nowadays, trendy Italian spots are everywhere in Salt Lake, but as someone who struggled through the “food desert” days as an international student, I truly hope this iconic restaurant stands the test of time. After trying all the new fusion places, it’s comforting to still have the “Red Brick House” to return to for nostalgia and consistency 🧡🏠. #LifeAbroad #MyLifeOverseas #DocumentingLifeAbroad #ItalianRestaurant #SaltLakeCity #SLCFood #Utah #LifeInSLC #FoodReview #WeekendEats #SLCFoodReview #MyFoodDiary #FoodShare #FoodieUSA #Inspiration #UtahFood #WeekendPlans #DailyFood #NorthAmericanLife
