🍴 SLC Eatery 🍴 Modern American Open only Wednesday to Sunday. Walk in and you’re greeted by two square windows framing delicate, crisscrossing tree branches—a serene, artistic vibe. At the top of the menu, a quote welcomes you: “People who love to eat are always the best people.” – Julia Child ❤️ Instantly charming and heartwarming. One of their signatures is the two rounds of dim sum-style trolleys 🛒—just like in Cantonese yum cha! Servers wheel dishes around for you to choose from, though you can also order straight from the menu. 📸 In order of photos: 1️⃣ GRILLED CALAMARI “FRIED RICE” Absolutely loved this! It’s not fried rice but fried grains—a happy surprise for my Chinese taste buds. Thought the orange bits were pumpkin, but turned out to be tomato, lemon, mayo, and garlic—not weird at all! Light, fresh, and comforting. 2️⃣ POACHED GULF SHRIMP Shrimp topped with crushed peanuts, tangy and bright.❤️😊 3️⃣ ALBACORE TUNA MI CUIT Tuna seared on the bottom, but overall texture was firmer than I prefer (I like it raw and tender).😘😍 Sauce poured tableside like French plating—beautiful to look at 👁️🍽️ 4️⃣ GRILLED BISON TERES MAJOR Since we’re near Yellowstone, why not try bison? Leaner than beef, guilt-free eating. Decent but not mind-blowing, plating was simpler than other dishes. 5️⃣ NOVA SCOTIA SCALLOPS Four seared scallops resting on a bed of beans in a clear, delicate broth reminiscent of Chinese soup—unexpectedly tasty!💕👍 Scallops and broth didn’t fully marry, but I happily ate them separately. 6️⃣ UTAH CORN MISO CARBONARA My favorite dish! An acquired taste—looks plain at first, but grows on you bite after bite. Starts with savory miso and pasta flavors, finishing with a strong black pepper aftertaste that lingers beautifully. Loved it! Overall, flavors may not be mind-blowing, but everything was tasty, creative, and thoughtfully prepared.
