San Antonio｜Haywire – The Chicken & Waffles are Delicious!

🤠 Ambience & Vibe This restaurant has a slightly upscale Western cowboy feel 🤠✨. For larger groups, there’s a cozy semicircular leather sofa seating near the entrance — perfect for family gatherings. Smaller parties are usually seated on either side of the main dining area, which is quieter. They also have a second floor, but it opens after 12 PM. Upstairs, there’s a private booth that can be reserved for birthdays 🎂 or small events 🎉 — no extra fee, but there’s a minimum spend requirement. Overall, the atmosphere is great! The second floor is relatively calm, but I bet it gets livelier at night 🍽️🌙. 🥤 Drinks We tried two non-alcoholic drinks, both excellent: • Lady Bird (Grapefruit flavor) – Refreshing and not bitter at all! 🍊✨ Pineapple and sparkling water balance it perfectly. Highly recommended if you don’t drink alcohol! • Mojito Refresher (Lemon Mint) – Fresh and zesty with a nice cucumber-lemon twist 🥒🍋. My friend loved it, but I’m not the biggest mint fan — still worth trying though! 🍴 Food • Four-Appetizer Platter – The fried onion was too hard, the cheese flavor was weak, the tacos weren’t great, and the chips were just okay… we barely finished it 😅. Might suit more Americanized tastes — not recommended. • Chicken & Waffles – Super recommended! 🧇🍗 Crispy, tender fried chicken with fluffy waffles, topped with honey sauce for extra yum. If you’re worried about it being too sweet, ask for the honey on the side. You can choose your egg style — we went with scrambled eggs, and they were perfect! They also offer a smaller, egg-free version if you’re dining solo. 🔥 📌 Final Thoughts Overall, this is a lovely spot for brunch with friends or family 💕.
