πSan Antonio π Christmas
π Riverwalk After the devastating 1921 flood, designer Robert Hugman transformed the river channel into a sunken pedestrian walkway lined with graceful white stone arches β balancing flood control with stunning urban beauty. The Riverwalk is buzzing with energy, packed with bars, restaurants, and a lively vibe. Evenings and after sunset are especially magical, with sparkling lights and river boats gliding by. Highly recommend! Whether you stroll along the banks or take a Go Rio cruise ($15.50 per person), itβs a wonderful experience. Note: Lines get long after dark, so plan ahead! π€β¨ π Boudroβs on the Riverwalk We chose this riverside spot for dinner with lovely water views. π₯ Tomato Salad β fresh and crisp, a nice vitamin boost. π₯ Seared Scallops β highly recommended! Charred to perfection with a βsizzling squidβ aroma β tender, fresh, and not mushy at all. π€ Coconut Shrimp β crispy fried shrimp coated with shredded coconut β sweet, juicy, and not the least bit heavy. π¦ Mesquite Grilled Quail β two little quails stuffed with mushrooms, corn, dried apricot, apple, and jalapeΓ±o, served with creamy sauce, zucchini, and potatoes β absolutely delicious! Donβt miss it! π San Fernando Cathedral Every night at 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM, a spectacular light projection show illuminates the cathedral facade, telling the story of Texas history β from vast plains and Spanish missions, to the Texas Revolution, statehood, the Civil War, oil boom, industrialization, and the rise of the modern skyline. The 23-minute show is breathtaking and beautifully recaps the history you learn during the day. ποΈπ π‘ Travel Tip: Street parking is rare in downtown San Antonio, but there are plenty of garages. Always check rates before entering β some offer a flat rate of $10 per day/night, while others charge hourly and can cost $40+ overnight for self-parking. #SanAntonio #Texas #Christmas #Travel #HolidayGetaway πππ
