San Antonio 2-Day Trip

The third stop of my spontaneous Texas road trip was San Antonio—just over an hour from Austin! 🚗💨 San Antonio has plenty of iconic spots to explore, starting with the Missions. Not sure why there are so many here historically, but five Missions are located relatively close to each other. All are free to enter 🆓, and except for The Alamo, parking is easy. Since the Missions are quite similar, you can just pick one or two if short on time. 🏛️ Mission San Juan 🏛️ Mission Espada 🏛️ Mission San Jose 🏛️ Mission Concepción The largest of the five—highly recommended if you only have time for one! ⭐ The Alamo Located downtown—parking can be tricky 🚧. Instead of street parking, try the nearby shopping mall garage. It’s affordable, and right next to The Alamo. After visiting, you can explore the mall, which even has a beautiful river running through the lower level! ⚠️ Street parking isn’t recommended—not only are spots hard to find, but downtown roads are narrow. I even saw an RV scrape a parked car while turning and drive off unaware… the chasedown was still going when I left! 🛍️ Historic Market Square A short street filled with Mexican-inspired shops and restaurants—great for souvenirs and a taste of Mexico! 🇲🇽 🌊 Riverwalk A must-visit! Perfect for scenic strolls, boat rides, and waterside dining. 🍰 Cheesecake Factory Since San Antonio isn’t exactly a foodie heaven (especially for Chinese food 😅), I played it safe with Cheesecake Factory. Ordered three dishes—no regrets! 😋 The Thai Chicken Wrap was the standout—a fun DIY-style dish. #HiddenGems #SanAntonioTravel #VisitSATX #Riverwalk #Texas #TravelTexas #SATXMustSee #SanAntonioGuide #TravelDiary #TexasRoadTrip #USADrive
