Walking along the riverside in San Antonio, I was almost in a trance — it felt like stepping into a Mexican or Spanish version of Xitang, those famous water towns back in China.✨ This Christmas somehow took me back a decade, to that Qingming Festival spent in Xitang.🌉 Above, artificial colored lights hung from tree branches like scattered stars, casting dreamy reflections on the narrow river in the night, shimmering like a fantasy. Along the streets and riverbanks, floating paper decorations added to the kaleidoscope of color, turning the whole world even more vibrant. The stone paths and little bridges were crowded with people, weaving together into a lively, almost miniature yet grand riverside fair.🎄 From the scent of Tex-Mex spices drifting through the air to the distant sounds of live music echoing along the water, San Antonio’s River Walk blends cultures, memories, and holiday magic into something uniquely its own.
