San Diego's Hidden Vietnamese Gem | Pho Duyen Mai
This place has easily become one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in SD! 📍 Located at 5375 Kearny Villa Rd #111, it’s not the most noticeable spot, but totally worth the find. Their Beef Pho is the soul of the menu—the broth is clear yet incredibly fragrant, with a rich, slow-simmered flavor that shines through with the first sip. The beef slices are tender and never tough, and when paired with basil, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lime, it’s an instant trip to Vietnam. 🇻🇳 You also have to try their Bánh Xèo (Vietnamese Coconut Milk Pancake)! Crispy on the outside and filled with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts, it’s meant to be wrapped in lettuce and dipped in fish sauce. One bite brings together a perfect mix of flavors—savory, crunchy, tangy, and slightly sweet. You won’t be able to stop! 🥢 The restaurant itself is clean and bright, especially the seats by the window. The staff is friendly, and the service is both quick and attentive. 🍴 Quick Tips: • Lunch and dinner rushes can get busy, so try to come early or during off-peak hours. • If you like it spicy, just ask for “extra spicy” when ordering. • Other great options include the Vietnamese bánh mì sandwich and lemongrass beef fried rice—perfect for group meals or takeout. Price per person is around $15–20, which is great for the quality. After your meal, you can explore the nearby Asian supermarkets in Kearny Mesa for a full food and shopping experience. 🛒 🌿 You don’t have to fly to Vietnam to enjoy authentic Vietnamese flavors—Pho Duyen Mai brings them right here to San Diego! 💛 #SanDiegoEats #VietnameseFood #PhoLover #PhoDuyenMai #SDFoodFinds
