San Diego | The Best Pork Chop Ever! 🤤

📍 ee nami tonkatsu izakaya I’d always heard how amazing the pork chops at this place were, and finally managed to snag a reservation two weeks in advance! So excited~😆 We ordered a ton of dishes. They have two types of pork chops: One is the loin katsu, which is half-fat, half-lean—super juicy and tender, with a perfectly crispy coating that isn’t greasy at all! The other is the fillet katsu, which is all lean meat. I found it a bit dry, but I personally prefer the balanced texture of the loin.😋 Besides the pork chops, the side dishes were also fantastic! The braised pork was incredibly tender and went perfectly with rice—so flavorful without being heavy. The fried tofu was also delicious, soaked in savory bonito broth—each bite was so satisfying~👏 The dessert, though, was a bit of a letdown… The matcha tiramisu had a very faint matcha flavor, and the middle part was dry, tasting like stale chiffon cake. Not really recommended.😅 All in all, I’d definitely come back just for their pork chops! Make sure to book in advance, but maybe skip the desserts~ 😉 #SanDiego #SanDiegoFood #SanDiegoTravel
