San Diego Dining Notes: Food, Cost of Living & Lifestyle
Today I had a casual lunch at Ironside Fish & Oyster in Little Italy, San Diego. This trendy seafood restaurant was converted from an old warehouse, keeping its industrial style while adding coastal-themed decorations—the ambiance is truly unique 🏭🌊. Three of us ordered the signature lobster roll, fish & chips, and a seafood platter with both raw and cooked items. When the bill came, it was $350 💸. The food was delicious, especially the lobster roll with tender meat and toasted bread, but the price was quite a surprise. Come to think of it, dining out in China seems to be getting more expensive too. In major cities, decent seafood restaurants can easily cost hundreds or even over a thousand yuan per person. Still, spending over 2,000 RMB on a single meal like this made me reflect: San Diego’s cost of living is really quite high! Friends in San Diego, what do you think about daily expenses here? Do you enjoy cooking at home? 😊 I personally love exploring healthy recipes. If you’re in San Diego and also passionate about cooking, let’s connect and exchange ideas! We can share where to find fresh local ingredients or try making low-fat, delicious seafood dishes together 🥗🍋. After all, cooking at home helps manage costs and eat more nutritiously—why not give it a try? 🙌 Overall, the experience at Ironside was enjoyable—great environment, service, and flavor—perfect for an occasional treat. But in the long run, cooking at home is more economical and healthier. Looking forward to meeting more local “foodie friends” to explore tasty and wholesome living together! 👩🍳👨🍳 #SanDiegoFood #SeafoodRestaurant #HealthyEating #HomeCooking #CostOfLiving #LifeSharing #FoodLover
