San Diego Eats | Warm Up with Authentic Korean Soup at Chon Ju Jip 🍲

On a chilly winter evening in San Diego, nothing is more comforting than a bowl of hot soup. Today, while chatting with my Korean colleague at work, she highly recommended Chon Ju Jip. As a foodie team, we decided immediately: why not try it tonight! 🌙 We arrived at the restaurant around 6 PM. The place is cozy, with only about ten tables, and four or five were already occupied—all by Korean customers, which made us even more excited about the food. 🍲 We ordered a pork wrap set and a ox bone soup. The set came with a choice of soybean paste soup or kimchi soup—we went with kimchi. The pork was tender, similar to slow-braised pork belly, served with fresh oysters, garlic slices, and kimchi, all wrapped in crisp lettuce—a delightful mix of textures! 🥬 The ox bone soup was generously portioned, with two large bones, vermicelli, and radish. Though the broth looked light, it was deeply flavorful. Having a bowl in winter truly warms you up. ❄️💖 The side dishes were also thoughtfully prepared, especially the fish cake and bean sprouts, which tasted homemade. 👍 Overall, the restaurant was quite satisfying, and paying in cash gave a 10% discount. However, parking is a bit tricky; if you arrive a little late, you’ll have to find street parking. Also, with “Mikiya” opening soon in the same plaza, parking might become even harder. 🚗💨 If you’re craving a warm bowl of soup on a cold night, give this place a try! 📍 #SanDiegoFood #KoreanCuisine #WinterSoup #OxBoneSoup #PorkWraps #FoodieDiary #RestaurantReview
