San Diego Zoo Safari Park 🦒🦏🐘

My favorite zoo ever! ^_^ It’s about a 40-minute drive from downtown. The park opens at 9 AM, and we headed straight for the Africa Tram to avoid crowds. This free safari-style ride takes you through open plains resembling the African savanna, where you can spot free-roaming giraffes 🦒, rhinos 🦏, antelopes 🐐, zebras 🦓, and more. We loved it so much we rode it twice—once in the morning and again in the afternoon! We also tried the Hot-Air Balloon Safari ($22 per person), which offers a stunning bird’s-eye view of the entire park. One of the coolest things here? They have one of only two platypuses outside Australia! (Though their habitat is dimly lit and aquatic, so they zip around pretty quickly.)
