⛪ San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church – Albuquerque's Historic Gem
Located right on the Old Town Plaza, this is one of the oldest and most beautiful structures in Albuquerque. Its classic adobe-style architecture and rustic wooden features stand out under the bright New Mexico sun, radiating a sense of peace and history. Though I didn’t go inside (the entrance was around the other side and looked a bit crowded!), the exterior alone was photogenic and deeply atmospheric. 📸✨ But the real surprise was the lively scene unfolding in the plaza right in front of the church! A vibrant Lemon Festival was in full swing—likely a Mexican-inspired community celebration 🍋🎉. The square was packed with families, artists, and food vendors, all buzzing with energy. A small Mexican band was playing cheerful tunes while dancers in traditional dresses swirled to the music. The sound of laughter, clapping, and singing filled the air—it felt like a scene straight out of a film! I stood there for a while just taking it all in: the smell of fresh lemons, tacos grilling nearby, and the sight of generations laughing together under the shade of the plaza trees. It was one of those travel moments where culture, community, and joy collide. 🤝💃 Even though I didn’t step inside the church, being there during this celebration gave the place a different kind of spirit—one that was alive, welcoming, and full of soul. 📍 Location: Old Town Plaza, Albuquerque NM #AlbuquerqueOldTown #SanFelipeDeNeri #NewMexicoCulture #LemonFestival #MexicanTraditions #TravelVibes #ChurchAndCelebration
