Sanjusangendo Hall(1)🌺🌟

Japan's first national treasure, Sanjusangendo Hall, is a Tendai Sect temple hall located outside the Myohoji Temple in Kyoto. 🌊🎒 It has earned the distinction of being the first national treasure due to the 1,001 statues of the Thousand-Armed Kannon enshrined within and the "world's largest" architectural features. 🌺🌟 The main hall, with a total length of 120 meters, is made entirely of wood. 🌺🌟 Thirty-four rows of columns divide it into thirty-three sections (each about 1.8 meters wide), hence the name "Sanjusangendo" (Hall of Thirty-Three Bays). In terms of building length, it is the world's longest single wooden structure. 🌊🎒 The temple was originally built in 1164 but was destroyed by a fire in 1249 and rebuilt on the same site in 1266. In the main hall, at the center, there is a finely carved statue of the Eleven-Headed Thousand-Armed Kannon. 🌊🎒 The exquisite craftsmanship is mainly reflected in the 11 faces on the statue's head and the 40 different hand gestures. 🌺🌟 #Kyoto 🌿
