Santa Monica's Japanese Food Heaven — This Place is Truly Top-Tier!

Who else gets it?! I’ve been coming to this hidden sushi gem in Santa Monica for years — they’ve been open for 40 whole years! The old location was tiny and always packed — even with crazy wait times, I kept coming back. Now they’ve moved to a new, spacious spot with beautiful Japanese wood-style decor, and even brought over the original shop sign. The vibe is absolutely on point! 🍣 Here’s what I ordered (each dish beautifully plated — tasty and photogenic): 🌸 Sashimi Ensemble 12 pieces of chef’s choice sashimi — thick-cut, firm, and fresh. No fishiness at all — you can tell they select their fish with care. 🌸 Combination Bento Teriyaki chicken + black cod — chicken is tender, sauce not too sweet. The black cod is rich and buttery, melts in your mouth. Comes with miso soup, fruit, and rice — a comfortable, balanced meal with great value. 🌸 Crispy Rice with Creamy Spicy Tuna The crispy rice base is perfectly crunchy, topped with spicy tuna that’s well-seasoned — not too salty or spicy. One-bite wonder! 🌸 Omakase Set Sushi Hand-pressed sushi with perfectly balanced rice acidity. The fish is fresh, and the house-made tamagoyaki is subtly sweet — go for it with eyes closed! 40 years of skill shines in this set. 🌸 Halibut Carpaccio with Black Truffle Thin slices of halibut with black truffle aroma — refreshing and light, enhanced with scallions. Delicious! 📍 Noma Sushi 2020 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90403 If you live nearby or are visiting Santa Monica — this longtime spot is a must-try. They have parking in the back! #100RestaurantsChallenge #LosAngeles #LAEats #FoodieAdventure #100RestaurantQuest
