Santa Monica Steak Guide 🥩 | A Must-Try Steakhouse with a View!
Restaurant: Meat on Ocean A long-time popular spot — known for its great atmosphere and even better views. Perfect for sunset watching 🌅, from golden hour to twilight. They specialize in dry-aged steaks, including my favorite — the same Double R Ranch beef you find at Eataly, aged from 30 to even 120 days! 🐄🧂 If you’re with a group, order about 10oz per person. This time we got a 37oz bone-in ribeye (about 7oz is bone 🦴). 🐙 Appetizer: The octopus was just okay 👎. 🦪 Oysters: A bit small, but fresh and tasty! Sides: Pretty standard — fries and creamed spinach (though it was more like steamed spinach, no cream in sight 🥬). But the real star — the STEAK! Cooked medium-rare 🥩, served on a wooden board (though it wasn’t very hot 😕). The crust had that special dry-aged flavor — nutty, buttery, almost like chocolate 😋🍫. The inner part was a bit plain, but pairing it with the chimichurri sauce helped a lot 👍. Final thoughts: Totally worth it for the view! 🌊 The steak was good — high-quality ingredients, though execution could be better. #LALife #LAFood #LADining #WeekendInLA #SantaMonicaEats #SantaMonica
