Just ate here a while ago and it was rreeaalllyyy good!! The restaurant is fancy but you don't have to be in a formal or semi formal get up. We just went there in casual clothes. The place, overall design and interior of the restaurant has a nice warm and cozy feeling. The ambiance is a bit dark and romantic for dinner and the view is amazing! You can see the santa monica pier and the carousel plus the view of the ocean. For food we ordered Spanish Octopus "A la Plancha" which was very savory and has a lot of flavor, we really liked this appetizer. The octopus was cooked really good and the texture is soft and not chewy. The bellpeppers complemented the octopus as well. Next thing is the bone marrow. The bone marrow was almost buttery and good too but for us nothing really special about the flavors but the onion jam was good to pair with the bone marrow. For entree we ordered the 14oz American Wagyu with the side of broccolini and yukon mashed potatoes. The American Wagyu was honestly one of the best steaks I had so far. We got medium rare and it was cooked just right! The outside was seared brown and really good with sea salt on top and the inside was pink. For the taste and texture, it tasted reeaallly reallyy good. The flavor explodes in yohr mouth and the texture is super soft,fatty/buttery and it just almost melts in your mouth. The mashed potatoes were soft as well but a bit on the grainy side instead of creamy and had a simple taste but it was good too. The broccolini had feta cheese which was a good pair for it plus the tahini on the bottom. Besides the food, the service was amazing as well! Our server was really nice and was going back to us to check up on us often and her knowledge on the menu and meats was really good as well. All in all ghe food and the experience was amazing! Would definitely recommend and would definitely go...
Read moreMeat On Ocean in Santa Monica is a meat lover's paradise, but they also offer some delicious seafood options. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a stylish and modern design that creates a sophisticated yet relaxed vibe. Parking can be a bit tricky, as it's Santa Monica, but the restaurant is located in a convenient area with plenty of street parking and nearby parking lots.
Now, let's talk about the food! The meat cuts are all fresh and high-quality. We tried the 45-day aged porterhouse, and it was absolutely incredible. It was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. We also sampled some of the seafood options, and they were equally impressive.
We were really intrigued by the chateaubriand, but it just wasn't our night for it. My wife wasn't feeling up for a huge steak, and honestly, the minimum size is pretty massive – definitely more than enough for two people, especially if you don't want to feel like you need to be rolled out of the restaurant afterwards! We're already planning to go back with friends soon so we can all share it.
The service was top-notch, attentive, and knowledgeable. They were also very accommodating when we decided to skip the chateaubriand and didn't try to upsell us on anything else. It's refreshing to find a restaurant in a touristy area that genuinely cares about their customers' experience.
Overall, Meat On Ocean is a great dining experience. If you're looking for a delicious steak or seafood dish in a stylish setting, we highly...
Read moreMy friends too me here to celebrate my birthday and it was one of the best steak I ever had. We parked at a parking structure like a couple of blocks down because valet parking here is pricey. When we arrived, my friend already made reservations so they took us to our table with the view to the beach and right next to Ocean Ave. The place wasn't really busy from what I notice when we walked past the bar and tables. Our waiter came and explain the menu to us. He was very helpful on the steak, what appetizer to get and how they cook the meat. We started out with the butcher bread because he highly recommended that with the quince and butter. The bread was very good and that quince cream was unique, you couldn't even taste the goat cheese. For our entree I went with the 12oz Filet mignon and my friends got the Ribeye. For our sides, we went with fries and Mac & cheese along with the house salad my friend got. The salad came after the bread and my friends really like it, 1 order of the salad is able to feed 2 people. Then our steak came and it looked delicious. The moment I cut into my filet mignon, I saw it was cooked perfectly to medium rare. The filet mignon was delicious, it was juicy and flavorful. The side of fries I got were delicious as well but you don't get a lot. The Mac & cheese we thought were okay but it wasn't the best. My friends liked their Ribeye steak and chimichurri sauce. The customer service we received here was amazing and we would surely come back...
