Savannah | Savannah Food Special š“
Savannah | Savannah Food Special š“ Hereās the Savannah guideć»food edition š«”! Iāve rounded up several restaurants I personally triedāsome pleasant surprises, some minor letdowns. Foodies, take noteļ½ š½ The Public Highly recommended!! It definitely deserves the āMost Surprising Restaurant in Savannahā award šļ½ š The location is fantastic, super close to attractionsāyou can stroll around to digest right after eating. The environment and vibe are amazing, relaxed and stylish; youāll feel comfortable as soon as you walk inļ½ š The service is impeccable! The staff are cheerful and attentive, taking the initiative to recommend dishes and even chatting with you like friendsļ½ š¤ The food is also amazing! Shrimp & Grits is said to be āthe best in townā š„, and it truly lives up to the hypeļ½ The flavors are incredibly rich. The grits are creamy and smooth, soaked in the freshness of seafood and the aroma of the sauce. There are also hidden chorizos (Spanish spicy sausage) inside, with a salty, slightly spicy flavor thatās super refreshing. Every bite is full of layers! Although itās walk-in only, going early means very few peopleāno waiting at all. Just go for itļ½ š½ Collins Quarter at Forsyth Park š Itās right inside Forsyth Parkāwhat a perfect location! The park lawns and century-old oak trees are right in front of you, and you can lie on the lawn to soak up the sun after eating. What a divine experienceļ½ We arrived at 11:30 on Sunday and only waited 10 minutes to be seatedāsuch good luck āļø! The classic brunch menu has dishes plated so beautifully they look like works of art, perfect for photosļ½ As a popular spot, the taste is fully up to par: fluffy pancakes, perfectly runny Eggs Benedict. Eating with the park view makes happiness overflowļ½ ā ļø Important note: This Forsyth Park location only serves brunch! The other branch has dinner, which is said to be amazing. I definitely need to check it out next timeļ½ š½ Bull Street Taco A small shop full of local charmāyouāll be infected by the lively atmosphere as soon as you walk in šµ! It specializes in trendy, young fusion-style tacos with bold flavors that are surprisingly deliciousļ½ For example, the mango shrimp taco is sweet, sour, and refreshing; the beef taco has a light smoky aroma, with a slightly charred tortilla. You canāt stop at one bite, and the price is greatāperfect for students! š½ Common Thread A restaurant converted from an old houseāthe interior decor is simply stunning āØ! Wooden furniture, vintage chandeliers, old photos on the wallsāitās full of atmosphere, definitely a plus for datesļ½ The food tastes good but is on the salty side (a common trait in Southern cuisine?). Itās not as amazing as rumored. Given its price and high online ratings, itās a bit āall talk and no actionā and didnāt meet expectations š. Itās more suitable for couples looking for a nice atmosphereāremember to make a reservation in advanceļ½ š¦ Leopold Ice cream Savannahās popular ice cream, and it lives up to the fame! The milk flavor is so rich itās like eating melted cheesecake, with a smooth, non-greasy texture. Recommended flavors: rum raisin and butter pecan. Take a scoop and put it in your mouthāhappiness reaches the top of your headļ½ šØ š° Luluās Chocolate Bar A fantastic dessert shop with long lines even at 9:30 PMāits popularity is off the charts š„! It specializes in creative desserts and martinis, a must for dessert loversļ½ The strawberry suspension cake I ordered is stunningly beautiful, with a texture as light as a cloud. The sweetness of the cream is balanced by the sourness of the strawberries, not greasy at all. Pair it with a martini for the perfect end to the nightļ½ āļø Coffee fox Itās said to be āaward-winning coffeeā (though I donāt know exactly which award, but it has a strong presence š)! Lots of people online recommend the hortacha latte, but itās a bit too sweet for me. If you donāt like things too sweet, the regular latte is greatācreamy foam, rich coffee aroma. A cup in the morning instantly wakes you upļ½ Restaurants I didnāt get to try this time but have added to my āmust-visit next timeā list: āŖļø The Olde Pink House - How cute is that pink little house! š” Itās a Savannah landmark, so popular you need to book days in advance. But some people say you can try walking ināmight give it a shot next timeļ½ āŖļø The Grey - It has the vibe of a local high-end restaurant, recommended even by Airbnb hosts. The dishes are said to be as exquisite as works of art, perfect for celebrating special occasionsļ½ āŖļø Foxy Loxy Cafe - A cute, fluffy-looking cafe. The host recommended their quiche and breakfast burritosāsounds deliciousļ½ #Savannah
