Forsyth Park is the perfect location for this hip and delicious restaurant! Our waiter today who was originally from Los Angeles (sorry, I forgot his name!) was fantastic; he was authentic and personable. The outdoor seating is very pretty with great views of the park and lovely summer air. The flies, however, are relentless. If you chose to dine outside, be aware that they will be buzzing your table! However, we knew that beforehand. The food is incredible. This is our third day in Savannah and our second time dining at Collins Quarter. The first time, my wife and I both had shrimp and grits and it was so incredible. The shrimp were succulent and sweet and was paired nicely with the andouille sausage. All of that was tied together with the smoky tomato/chipotle sauce and creamy cheesy grits. This was the South in a bowl and it was clean your plate delicious. For today, my wife ordered chicken and waffles and I ordered the Park Burger. We both agreed that we would order any of these entrees again. The Park burger is basically a smash burger consisting of two 1/4 lb. patties, onion jam, Visalia onions, lettuce, tomato and cheese nestled in a brioche bun. The fries with it were crispy and light. This was one of the best restaurant burgers I’ve had in a while and is definitely worth the $17 price. The chicken and waffles - not gonna lie - had me with entree envy. This was beyond amazing. The chicken was lightly breaded but crispy and crunchy! The waffles were fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside, had a light malted and vanilla flavor and were sweet. The buffalo syrup was infused with jalapeño and had a gentle slow heat that hit the palate and brought the slightest hint of warmth with each bite. This entree also had some beautiful mixed berries that just took the whole dish to the next level. This is a must order, in my opinion. Of the three entrees I tried, I would say chicken and waffles just barely edges out shrimp and grits and both of those over the burger, which again, is a great burger. It all depends on whether you want something more to the savory or sweet side. We finished lunch today with cappuccino and it’s the best coffee I’ve had here in Savannah!
UPDATE - 3/30/24 My wife and I came back to Savannah for Easter and we just returned to Colins Quarter for brunch. This time I had the chicken and waffles (so did she) and it was the absolute best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. There’s no reason to order this entree anywhere else in Savannah. Nobody is going to top this. The chicken was crispy and juicy, the waffle had a great malted flavor, and the fresh fruit was divine. The jalapeño infused syrup is absolutely sublime. Not only did we have an excellent meal, but we had an incredible server, Bella. She was funny, knowledgeable, and took the time to make a connection with us even though the restaurant was exceptionally busy. Bella is a Savannah native, something that I’m sure is getting rarer as time goes on and she understands the importance of being an ambassador for her city as well as an exceptional server. We will...
Read moreUpdate: CQ at Forsyth has once again hit it out of the park. My girls and I came to Savannah for a "Lady Vacation" as our Uber driver called it for my 35th birthday and OBVIOUSLY we had to come back to The Collins Quarter for my birthday brunch. There was a really long line but we still managed to get our group of 7 seated immediately. A few of us came to CQF back in January and so obviously we had to request our guy Stevie again. Apparently, just like Sabrina Carpenter, I leave quite an impression because he recognized us right away (unlike Sabrina, however, I am 5'2 to be exact). He totally remembered our convos from back in January and was so stoked that we were back to celebrate my birthday, he got us a round of free champagne. Not only that, but he convinced Eli (who I can only describe as having the voice of Fergie mixed with Jesus) to sing happy birthday to me. The whole restaurant clapped and it was at this moment, I knew I had peaked in life and that this is what being famous must feel like. The food was amazing. We had avocado toast, Turkish eggs, mushies on toast, and burgers- all of which were fantastic. The drinks were top tier. I loved my Be My Lover and my friends loved their ice lavender mochas. The food and atmosphere were astounding. Definitely 5/5 stars. Stevie and Eli are the true gems, though. We'd come back time and again just to see them. I'd give our guy Stevie a 10/10 stars if Google would let me. It was easily the best part of our Savannah stay. We even came back the next day for brunch again before we hit the road. (Stevie wasn't working otherwise we would've requested him again but shout out to Phillip for holding down the fort!) I highly recommend The Collins Quarter at Forsyth to anyone looking for a Savannah staple of good food and good people. It's easy to see why this place is so popular. Thanks for making my birthday trip so memorable. We love y'all. Stevie 5 ever.
Original: Collins Quarter at Forsyth was amazing. The food is fantastic, the ambiance is gorgeous, and our waiter, Stevie, was the absolute best. As an influencer, it’s so nice to find such an enjoyable restaurant that’s actually good, too. (Disclaimer: I am not, in fact, an influencer. But the sentiment still stands)...
Read moreWow. Where do I even begin with the trainwreck that is Collins Quarter at Forsyth? I have been debating posting this for a month- I have never gone out of my way to leave a review on a restaurant until now, but this experience has been eating away at my wife and I, and if we can prevent even one person from avoiding this dark hole of a restaurant, it will be worth it.
Let’s start with the “Forsyth Breakfast” I ordered—because calling this sorry plate of eggs, toast, and bacon “breakfast” feels like an insult to breakfasts everywhere. For seventeen dollars, you’d expect something remotely special or delicious. Instead, I got eggs I could’ve scrambled blindfolded, toast, and bacon so burned it looked like a piece of roofing shingle. I swear, for seventeen bucks I could’ve fed my whole family this breakfast at home, and it would have actually been edible.
But here’s the best part—the cherry on top of this overpriced farce. My bacon was literally inedible, so I asked to see the manager. Enter the manager—a short, skinny guy with dark hair, who clearly missed the memo that the customer is supposed to be the priority. I asked him if he was the manager, and he confirmed he was, with an attitude. Then he immediately pivoted to shamelessly hit on my wife like he was in a night club.
“Where are you from?” he asked, leaning in way too close. “You have the most beautiful accent.” As if that wasn’t inappropriate enough, he follows it up with, “How long are you in town?
Meanwhile, I’m sitting there like: HELLO—MY BACON IS CHARCOAL.
I had to remind this guy—who was so busy trying to score a date with my wife—that he was supposed to be helping ME. He reluctantly took my plate back, and tossed in one more smirk at her and pretending like I wasn’t there.
In short: If you want to pay an outrageous price for food that is worse than anything you’d make at home, and watch your spouse get interrogated by a wannabe Casanova cosplaying “ restaurant manager”, Collins Quarter Forsyth is the place for you.
Otherwise, save your money—and your dignity—and go literally anywhere...
