Savannah Food Feast đ´
Savannah Food Feast đ´ When exploring Savannahâs food scene, these two hidden gem restaurants are absolute must-tries! One is a cozy little spot in the city center, and the other is a fun seafood joint on an islandâeach with its own unique charmď˝ đ Ardsley Station This restaurant has such an amazing vibe! Itâs not big, but the decor is super warm and inviting. The lighting is soft and cozy, and the tables and chairs are arranged in a relaxed, unpretentious wayâeating here feels like dining at a friendâs house đ. We ordered their signature BBQ ribs and shrimp grits, and every bite was a delightful surprise! BBQ ribs đ: The ribs are cooked until fall-off-the-bone tenderâjust a gentle poke with a fork, and the meat separates from the bone. Theyâre coated in a slightly sweet, smoky sauce thatâs not too salty, so every shred of meat is infused with that delicious flavor. Pair it with the tangy pickles on the side to cut through the richnessâabsolutely perfect! Shrimp grits đŚ: This Southern classic is taken to the next level here. The grits (a creamy porridge made from coarsely ground corn) are smooth and velvety, topped with huge, plump shrimp that are sweet and springy. Itâs drizzled with a rich, creamy sauce that adds a lovely milky saltiness, creating a super layered flavor. It totally changed my perception of âporridgeâď˝ The restaurant isnât crowded, and the food comes out quickly. After eating, sitting by the window and zoning out for a bit makes you feel like time slows down. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet place to enjoy a nice meal! đ The Crab Shack (Tybee Island) This place is a paradise for foodies and animal lovers alike! Itâs on Tybee Island, about a 30-minute drive from Savannahâs downtown. As soon as you walk in, youâll be charmedâthereâs a small pond at the entrance where you can feed baby alligators! đ (Donât worry, itâs totally safe, and there are staff nearby to superviseď˝) There are also lots of little birds hopping around in the enclosures nearby. Eating while watching the animals is so much fun! We ordered a seafood platter and freshly shucked oysters, and everything was incredibly fresh: Seafood platter đŚ: Itâs loaded with crab, lobster tails, shrimp, corn, and potatoesâall freshly cooked, with that sweet, briny flavor of the sea. Eating it with your hands, peeling and cracking shells, is such a hearty, satisfying experience. The accompanying sauce has a bit of a kick, which really enhances the flavors! Oysters đŚŞ: Each one is plump and juicy. A squeeze of lemon, and you can eat them straight upâno fishy taste at all, just the clean, refreshing flavor of the ocean. Theyâre also great value for moneyâwe ate our fill and left totally satisfiedď˝ The restaurant is right by the beach, so if you sit outside, you can catch a glimpse of the distant sand and sunset đ . Feeling the sea breeze, eating fresh seafood, and watching the little alligatorsâthis is an experience you wonât find anywhere else. Definitely make sure to check it out! #savannahfood#SavannahEats#SouthernUSAFood#SeafoodLoversHeaven
