Savannah Food Journal 🍴

Savannah Food Journal 🍴 I stayed in Savannah for a short day and a half. Most restaurants felt similar, so I didn’t pick too carefully—overall, the food was pretty good 😋. 🍽️ B.matthew‘s Eatery A random breakfast spot I walked into. It was already packed by 8 AM, located near River Street 🌊. Shrimp & Grifts: A local specialty, with a texture like congee. This place adds cheese, making it super fragrant, and the shrimp are fresh 🦐. Tasty, but the portion wasn’t huge—I got hungry soon after. Fried Green Tomato & Crab Cake Benny: The crab cake was a bit salty (probably sea crab), but the fried green tomato had a nice texture—not too soft. The whole dish was on the salty side, and with lots of fried elements, it felt heavy for breakfast 🤤. Ms. Lavender: A nice drink. They also offer hot water, perfect for sipping on a cold day ☕. 🍽️ Collins Quarter at Forsyth This branch of Collins Quarter is right by Forsyth Park 🌳. The space is large—we went at 2 PM (off-peak) and didn’t wait, but they close at 3 PM, so don’t go too late! Mushies & Toast: The toast was a bit dry and hard to cut, but the roasted mushrooms were amazing 🍄! The runny egg was great too—though there’s no meat, so it might not fill you up if you’re starving. Thai Iced Latte: Delicious! You can ask for less sugar, which balances it perfectly 👍. Shrimp & Grifts: Totally different from B.matthew‘s version! This one had a strong tomato sauce flavor, no cheese, but the shrimp were just as fresh. Both styles are good in their own way 😋. Chia Pudding: Unlike the main branch’s Coconut Chia, this had granola instead of kiwi or mango. It’s sweeter—the main branch’s version is lighter. 🍽️ The Collins Quarter Shine Time Beni: Fragrant ground pork, soft fluffy bread, and a runny egg—amazing combo 🍳! It’s sweet, and the portion is huge—very filling. Grapefruit Juice: A small cup, refreshing and zesty 🍹. Bubble & Squeak: My friend ordered this, and it was so good!! Honestly my favorite dish across all three spots. Savory, with delicious beans and a croquette-like patty—highly recommend 🌟! Birds of Venus Coconut Chia: Light and fresh, with plenty of fruit—very refreshing 🥭. #SavannahFood#Savannah
