Savannah Food Journal 🍴

Savannah Food Journal 🍴 In December, I took a 3-day, 2-night trip to the South—here’s a record of the food I tried~ 1⃣️ The Olde Pink House I booked two weeks in advance and only managed to get a 10 PM slot 😂. The atmosphere is so cozy; it feels more like a manor than a restaurant 🏡. We ordered blackened oysters, southern sushi, she crab soup, and flounder, with biscuit as the complimentary bread. The biscuit is amazing (especially compared to Popeyes’)! Crispy on the outside, rich and milky inside 🥛—loved it! The oysters are cooked, with three different seasonings—all fantastic 🦪! The sushi was just so-so 😐 The soup was good, though a bit salty The flounder was cooked like "squirrel fish" (a sweet-sour Chinese-style dish), which was very appetizing 🐟 2⃣️ Chive Sea Bar and Lounge We went on a weekday afternoon, so it wasn’t crowded. We ordered chive mussels, she crab soup, sea bass, and shrimp & avocado salad. I loved the mussels! Tender with a tangy flavor—I’m not usually into sour foods, but dipping bread in the sauce was addictive 🍞! The she crab soup was better than Pink House’s, but still a bit salty 😋 The sea bass was crispy outside and tender inside—I thought it was great, but my boyfriend said it was a bit drier than Domo Domo’s, so just average 🐠 The shrimp salad was a disaster 💣! The shrimp were either overcooked or too salty—awful. The rest of the salad was fresh, though, which saved it a bit~ (After these two Southern meals back-to-back, we were a bit burnt out and wanted a change 🤣) 3⃣️ Goose Feathers (breakfast spot) The egg Benedict was delicious—perfect runny yolk 🍳! The quiche was good too, with a smooth texture The bread pudding was extremely sweet, but surprisingly tasty—we finished it anyway 🍮 The latte was just okay, not recommended ☕ 4⃣️ Yatai Ramen A fallback when we didn’t want American food, but it’s no match for New York’s ramen spots (my boyfriend joked: "Not even as good as Notably, I ordered the spicy mala flavor with beef—it basically tasted like Sichuan spicy beef noodles… unexpectedly homey? 🌶️ 5⃣️ E-tang It was cold at night, so we ordered takeout. The food was standard Chinese fare, but their soup dumplings were amazing—thin skin, juicy filling 🥟! 6⃣️ The Coffee Fox The everything bagel kolache was incredible! It’s like a bagel wrapped into a bun shape, filled with cream cheese that melts slightly when heated—so good 🥯! The espresso tonic was refreshing, great for cutting grease ☕ The horchata latte was sweet and decent The regular latte was terrible, barely tasted like coffee—avoid ❌ Also, Black Rifle Coffee’s latte is delicious, worth a try~ ☕ #Savannah
