Savannah Solo Trip đ¶ââïž
Savannah Solo Trip đ¶ââïž This was my first time traveling aloneâand Savannah is perfect for a 2-3 day solo getaway! Itâs small enough to explore easily, but has just enough to keep you busy without feeling overwhelmed âš. Day 1: Wandering Downtown Squares & Food Hopping I spent my first day walking through every downtown squareâtheyâre all so cute, with little fountains and mossy oaks đł! Checked off Collins Quarter for brunch (total win!), then hit River Front and Olde Pink House in the evening. Midday gets pretty hot (not ideal for slow walkers like me đ), but there are shaded spots everywhere to cool down. Early mornings and after 3 PM are chefâs kiss for exploringânice and breezy! Collins Quarterâs food was great: the avocado smash (creamy, with a zesty kick) and lavender mocha (sweet, not too floral) were both 10/10 â. đš Hotel Rec: The Drayton Hotel Obsessed with this place! It has such a cozy, retro-art vibeâthink vintage decor and soft lighting, super Instagram-worthy đž. They even give you free sparkling wine every day (hello, solo trip luxury đ·)! Location canât be beat: right next to City Hall, and Vicâs by the River is just downstairs. No need to Uber everywhereâtotal time-saver! Day 2: Trolley Tours, Glass Blowing & Dolphin Watching I wanted to fill my day, so I woke up early for a trolley bus tourâand it was way more fun than I expected! The guide told me so much cool history: Savannah is where Girl Scouts started đ§ž, there are tons of âmurder housesâ (spooky but fascinating đ±), the famous pink house is 5 years older than the U.S. itself, and the iron railings look so dreamy through the Spanish moss đż. Fun fact: Houses with red doors mean the mortgage is paid offâsuch a cute, proud little detail! In the afternoon, I tried a glass-blowing workshop⊠eh, it was just okay. Only do this if you have nothing else plannedâyou can make a tiny trinket, but itâs not super memorable đȘ. Evening was the highlight: I went to Tybee Island for dolphin watching! Seeing dolphins pop up to breathe under the sunset was magical đŹâwe spotted so many! Tybeeâs beach itself is pretty average, though. My Uber driver said Hilton Headâs beaches are way betterâyou can even ride bikes on the sand! Maybe next time đČ. Day 3: Churches, Glass Picks & Mrs. Wilkesâ Famous Dinner Started the day visiting a few churches (so elegant, with stunning stained glass âȘ), then picked up the glass piece I made the day before. Then came the big one: Mrs. Wilkesâ Dinner! This place is legendaryâfamilies were lining up for over an hour, and they close early to make sure thereâs enough food for the buffet. Since I was alone, I only waited 20 minutes before joining a table with strangersâtotal luck! The meal was wild in the best way: everyone passed dishes around the table for 5 whole minutes, and there were over 10 Southern dishes to try đ„. The fried chicken was insaneâjuicy, slightly salty, perfect. Even the random Southern dishes I couldnât name were delicious! Such a fun, communal experienceâdefinitely a solo trip highlight. P.S. Leopoldâs Ice Cream downtown has a crazy long line. Iâm just gonna hit the airport location insteadâoff to get my ice cream fix after finishing this post đŠ! #savannah#solotrip#SoloTravelVibes#SouthernAdventure
