Savannah Solo Trip š¶āāļø
Savannah Solo Trip š¶āāļø This was my first time traveling aloneāand Savannah is perfect for a 2-3 day solo getaway! Itās small enough to explore easily, but has just enough to keep you busy without feeling overwhelmed āØ. Day 1: Wandering Downtown Squares & Food Hopping I spent my first day walking through every downtown squareātheyāre all so cute, with little fountains and mossy oaks š³! Checked off Collins Quarter for brunch (total win!), then hit River Front and Olde Pink House in the evening. Midday gets pretty hot (not ideal for slow walkers like me š), but there are shaded spots everywhere to cool down. Early mornings and after 3 PM are chefās kiss for exploringānice and breezy! Collins Quarterās food was great: the avocado smash (creamy, with a zesty kick) and lavender mocha (sweet, not too floral) were both 10/10 ā. šØ Hotel Rec: The Drayton Hotel Obsessed with this place! It has such a cozy, retro-art vibeāthink vintage decor and soft lighting, super Instagram-worthy šø. They even give you free sparkling wine every day (hello, solo trip luxury š·)! Location canāt be beat: right next to City Hall, and Vicās by the River is just downstairs. No need to Uber everywhereātotal time-saver! Day 2: Trolley Tours, Glass Blowing & Dolphin Watching I wanted to fill my day, so I woke up early for a trolley bus tourāand it was way more fun than I expected! The guide told me so much cool history: Savannah is where Girl Scouts started š§ø, there are tons of āmurder housesā (spooky but fascinating š±), the famous pink house is 5 years older than the U.S. itself, and the iron railings look so dreamy through the Spanish moss šæ. Fun fact: Houses with red doors mean the mortgage is paid offāsuch a cute, proud little detail! In the afternoon, I tried a glass-blowing workshop⦠eh, it was just okay. Only do this if you have nothing else plannedāyou can make a tiny trinket, but itās not super memorable šŖ. Evening was the highlight: I went to Tybee Island for dolphin watching! Seeing dolphins pop up to breathe under the sunset was magical š¬āwe spotted so many! Tybeeās beach itself is pretty average, though. My Uber driver said Hilton Headās beaches are way betterāyou can even ride bikes on the sand! Maybe next time š². Day 3: Churches, Glass Picks & Mrs. Wilkesā Famous Dinner Started the day visiting a few churches (so elegant, with stunning stained glass āŖ), then picked up the glass piece I made the day before. Then came the big one: Mrs. Wilkesā Dinner! This place is legendaryāfamilies were lining up for over an hour, and they close early to make sure thereās enough food for the buffet. Since I was alone, I only waited 20 minutes before joining a table with strangersātotal luck! The meal was wild in the best way: everyone passed dishes around the table for 5 whole minutes, and there were over 10 Southern dishes to try š„. The fried chicken was insaneājuicy, slightly salty, perfect. Even the random Southern dishes I couldnāt name were delicious! Such a fun, communal experienceādefinitely a solo trip highlight. P.S. Leopoldās Ice Cream downtown has a crazy long line. Iām just gonna hit the airport location insteadāoff to get my ice cream fix after finishing this post š¦! #savannah#solotrip#SoloTravelVibes#SouthernAdventure
