Savannah Travel Journal 2⃣️ Southern US Restaurants Serve Huge Portions 🤯 I ate so many fried foods in Savannah that, no exaggeration, I broke out in a forehead full of pimples and clogged pores when I got back to New York… Folks, make sure to balance meat and veggies, haha! 🦐 Savannah Seafood Shack 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A friend’s Georgia local classmate took us here—total hidden gem only locals know about! We ordered a shrimp Steamin’ Combos and three fried shrimp tacos, and the portions left me shocked — so huge! I was almost full after just one taco… But the fried shrimp were amazing: ultra-thin batter, with every bite bursting with plump, bouncy shrimp. So fresh, you could taste the sea, and not a hint of greasiness! The Cajun-style combo came with corn and potatoes, and surprisingly, these sides soaked up all the seafood broth—salty, savory, and more impressive than the seafood itself~ The three of us ate until we could barely walk, and it all cost less than $30. Insane value—I wanted to get a membership on the spot! Super worth it, highly recommend! 🏴‍☠️ The Pirate’s House 🌟🌟🌟🌟 No wonder it’s a pirate-themed spot—the portions are pirate-level generous! I ordered a cocktail, an appetizer, and their signature fried chicken (said to be award-winning, topped with pecan syrup). Since I was dining alone, I asked the server if the portions would be too big, and she swore “absolutely not”! Then the food came, and I was stunned — the appetizer could’ve fed two, and the four massive pieces of fried chicken looked like a mountain, easily enough for a week’s worth of meals… I forced down two pieces and waved the white flag 😂 The drinks were good though! They have a signature drink served in a skull cup—super pirate-vibes~ I don’t like bitter cocktails, so I asked for a sweeter version, and it was fruity and delicious! I ended with black tea and chocolate cake—classic Southern sweet cake, perfectly sweet, and the tea cut the richness. The restaurant itself is a mini-attraction; trolley tours even announce it as a stop—worth popping in if you’re nearby~ 🍤 Vic's On the River 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Just a two-minute walk from the Hyatt, prime location with killer river views and elegant vibes ✨ Highly recommend their Georgia Peach cocktail—peach sweetness mixed with booze, refreshing and smooth, rival to many trendy NYC bars! For apps, I got fried shrimp again (yep, I’m obsessed). Main course: Pan Seared Jumbo Scallops—so fresh they melted in my mouth, and as big as small fists… I only finished two before tapping out 🤷‍♀️ 💓 The Olde Pink House 🌟🌟🌟🌟 True to its name, it’s an adorable pink house—total overload 💖 But what stuck with me most? The stairs lined with Qing Dynasty family portraits! Seeing all those red hats and braids in a Southern US old house felt surreal and time-bending—I couldn’t stop staring 🤯 No surprises, I ordered fried chicken again (Southern fried chicken is my weakness), but the standout was the crab bisque—rich, creamy, loaded with crab meat, so fresh it blew my mind! Solid food, unique ambiance—worth a visit~ #USTravel#Food
