SD｜Super Affordable Moroccan-Style Hot Springs ♨️

Recently visited Jacumba Hot Spring for a relaxing soak! 🏜️ Just an hour’s drive from La Jolla with no traffic—you can even see the border along the way! The road there feels a bit remote, but the hot spring resort itself is lovely. It’s close to an abandoned train, though we’re not sure if it’s closed or we just couldn’t find it—we went to the train museum nearby but couldn’t enter or see the graffiti train up close. Check-in happens in a cute little van—so charming! 🚐 The entrance alone is super photogenic. We booked the night pass starting at 5 PM—weekdays are just $22 per person! You can reserve online the same day—super affordable, and you can soak until midnight. With sunset around 5 PM these days, that’s plenty of time to enjoy. Jacumba weather is sunnier than SD, but evenings are perfect—not too hot, and the water stays warm after sunset. Cabanas by the pool can be reserved, but even without one, you’re free to hang out and take photos. They also light fire pits in the evening—so cozy! 🔥 The resort’s vibe is a bit like the hot spring hotels in Palm Springs but with a touch of Moroccan exoticism—and it’s much closer and more budget-friendly! If you’re looking for a hot spring near SD, this is a great alternative. The rooms are gorgeous too—check their Instagram for stunning photos! 📸 Admission includes two towels, but if you plan to shower there, bring an extra—it’s easy to misplace theirs 😂 They even provide free sunscreen by the pool—thoughtful touch!
