SD | Paik’s Noodle - Hong Kong Benjamin SD
You can now try a restaurant opened by the famous Paik brothers in San Diego! 🥳 Today I’m recommending Paik’s Noodle - Hong Kong Benjamin SD, a Korean chain located in Convoy that surprisingly serves dishes very close to Chinese cuisine. The exterior might seem quiet, but step inside and you’ll find a spacious interior! The decor is simple, and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it perfect for a casual meal with friends. 👭🍽️ That evening, I noticed most of the customers were Korean, which made me feel more confident about the authenticity of the food 😌. The prices are very affordable, and since it’s open late, it’s a great spot for late-night snacks! 🌙 If you love watching K-dramas or variety shows, dining here might even make you feel like you’ve stepped right into a scene! 📺 Must-try dishes: ✅ Jajangmyon (Korean Black Bean Noodles): An absolute classic! The noodles are wonderfully chewy, and the sauce is filled with tender shredded pork. Compared to what I’ve tried in Korea, it’s slightly less salty, making it more suited to local tastes. Enjoy it with the refreshing pickled radish—it cuts the richness perfectly! 😋 ✅ Sweet & Sour Pork: In my opinion, this is even better than the Guo Bao Rou at other Northeastern Chinese restaurants in San Diego! The coating is light and crispy, and the pork isn’t too fatty. Best of all, the sweet and sour sauce is served on the side, so you can adjust the flavor to your liking. 👏 Although the menu isn’t very extensive, there are still plenty of dishes I’d love to try next time, like the seafood noodles and fried chicken wings! 🍜🍗 That said, I’ll probably skip the Mapo Tofu here unless a friend who’s tried it highly recommends it! 🤣 #SanDiegoFood #KoreanCuisine #Jajangmyon #SweetAndSourPork #LateNightEats #FriendsGathering #FoodReview
