Seattle’s New Hotspot Atoma | Beef Tartare Takes the Crown

A new restaurant opened by the former sous chef of Canlis, located in an older house in Wallingford. The wooden structure and small space might make the environment a bit noisy, but the flavors are outstanding, and the service is great. Here are my recommendations in order of preference: 🌟Beef Tartare: My favorite of the night. I don’t usually eat raw beef, so I’m always grateful if beef tartare doesn’t have a weird taste. But Atoma’s version is mixed with chopped geoduck cooked in ox sauce, adding a fresh umami flavor! Topped with crispy garlic and radish slices, it’s layers of deliciousness. 🌟Black Cod: My favorite main course, the flesh is incredibly tender, and the skin is crispy and fragrant. The sauce has a subtle salty and sour taste, and the broccoli side is fantastic! 🌟Chicken Liver Mousse: Chicken liver mousse on bread, the bread is aromatic and hard not to enjoy. Apple and mustard cut through the richness perfectly. 🌟Beef Coulette: I prefer the codfish to this. The beef is tender, but I’m not a fan of the fatty edges. The sauce is delicious, made with bone marrow, and the roasted salsify side is also yummy! 🌟Rosette Cookie: Maybe my expectations were too high, but this wasn’t as good as I imagined. I thought it would be fresh, but it was served cold. It’s crispy, and the salted sweet jam is decent. 🌟Crumpete: Has a cornbread vibe, quite filling, not recommended. 🌟Dessert Citrus Dreamsicle: Not a fan of this either; it’s all whipped and a bit cloying. The drinks are also delicious! I recommend Missing Miraflores, it’s a plum and citrus flavor but very dry! Approximately $100 per person, highly recommended!! #AtmosphericRestaurant #FoodExploration #SeattleFood
