Seattle’s Popular Hiking Trail: Snow Lake Trail

🚗 Location: Alpine Lakes Wilderness, less than an hour’s drive from Bellevue 📏 Length: 6.7 miles 📈 Elevation Gain: 1699ft (Elevation range 3138-4417ft) ⏱️ Time: 3hr32min (Alltrails average 3hr42min) 🌟Our fourth day hike of the Independence Day holiday, a beautifully stunning alpine lake. The trailhead is about an hour’s drive from Seattle, the parking lot is large but it’s best to arrive early. 🌟The trail is quite rocky, with about two-thirds being gravel sections, and there are wooden steps on the steeper parts. Apart from the forest near the trailhead, most of the trail is without tree cover, so sunscreen is a must, especially after the snow reflection… it’s a 360-degree no-blind-spot sun exposure… 🌟There’s still a significant amount of snow on the section from the highest point of the trail down to the lake, so it’s recommended to bring microspike and trekking poles to be careful of the hollows created by the melting snow. On windy days, it’s best to walk a distance to the east side of the lake along the trail to see clear reflections. 🌟The trailhead parking costs $5 and needs to be paid nearby at the trailhead. #SeattleSurroundings #SeattleHiking #SeattleOutdoors #HikingTrailRecommendations #Hiking #SeattleLife #WeekendGetaways #Outdoors #MountainOfTheWeek #HikingTrailRecommendations
