Seattle|Atoma 🍽️
To make use of my Chase Sapphire Reserve dining credit, I visited Atoma—a well-reviewed restaurant—the day before Thanksgiving 🦃💳. (Seattle’s dining scene feels limited sometimes, and other spots seemed risky based on reviews.) The restaurant is converted from a house, with a cozy, homestyle decor 🏠🕯️—though it felt a bit mismatched with the fine-dining price point. The drink menu was beautifully designed, and the cocktails truly looked like the photos 🍸📸. The food menu isn’t extensive, but the server was enthusiastic and explained each dish in detail ⭐. Courses came at a leisurely pace—we often waited a bit between dishes. 🥀 Rosette Cookie Filled with caramelized onion jam—tasted like onion rings, but with a light, fried-dough texture. Savory and fragrant, worth trying! The green powder on top looked like matcha 🍵, but turned out to be dried scallion powder 😲. 🍘 Radish Cake Very similar to Cantonese-style turnip cake, but deep-fried. Topped with pickled radish flowers (quite sour) and tiny geoduck clams—more for decoration than flavor. Personally, just okay 👌. 🐟 Kanpachi Fresh fish with nice texture 🐠. Served with raw onion rings, spicy pepper slices, kumquat for sweet-sour notes, and a slightly spicy, creamy sauce. Complex and layered—great for poke lovers 🥢. 🐖 Pork Collar Slightly sweet on first bite, topped with crispy fried celery bits. The meat was tender, cooked medium-well, almost like a filet steak 🥩. A light charred aroma, though a bit salty toward the end—fig jam helped balance it. As someone who doesn’t usually enjoy pork, I’d recommend this 👍. 🍯 Dessert Two mini sweets offered with the bill: cinnamon waffle cookies with fruit jam and soft candies (apricot or peach flavor)—both quite sweet 🧁. Overall, Atoma is a “pretty meal” in what often feels like a Seattle food desert 🏜️✨. The menu changes periodically, so each visit can be a fresh experience. It’s popular, so reservations are recommended—you can book via Chase CSR on OpenTable and redeem the credit directly when paying 💳📅. #HiddenGemRestaurant #RestaurantRecs #Seattle #SeattleEats #AtomaSeattle #OpenTable #StudyAbroadPlog #SeattleDaily #Foodie #StudentFoodReview
