Seattle|This Peking Duck Is a Trap 🦆💸
October in Seattle is windy and cold—this SoCal transplant was already shivering. Spotted BARON‘s sino kitchen& bar in Bellevue Square, upscale decor, thought their Peking duck would be safe… Oh, how wrong I was. 🦆 Peking Duck Set $88 Includes sliced duck, two steamers of pancakes (~10 total), and condiments. Sliced tableside with ceremony, but one bite in—no duck flavor, meat was dry, hoisin sauce tasted off. Felt like a “Peking duck simulation.” 🐟 Stone Pot Fish $38 Smelled amazing with Sichuan peppercorn, but the fish was clearly pre-made, mushy, and slightly sour. Sent it back immediately. 🐮 Black Pepper Wagyu $39 Big plate, small portion. Beef cubes were tough and bland—nothing memorable. For this price, you can get much better beef elsewhere. 🥬 The Only Edible Dish: Stir-Fried Zucchini Wok-fried with minced pork, flavorful but salty without rice. 💸 Verdict Nice ambiance and service, but the food is a letdown across the board—especially for the price. Being in Bellevue doesn’t excuse blandness—save your money and cravings for LA ducks. 🏠 BARON’s sino kitchen& bar #Seattle #SeattleEats #BellevueFood #RestaurantFail #PekingDuckRegret #FoodieWarning
