Seattle's Adorable Tree Stumps
Visited Keechelus Lake and Gold Creek Pond 🌲 Keechelus Lake Home to countless expressive tree stumps that look like Jellycat plushies—super fun and nostalgic! One particularly cute stump even has "explosive hair" (the only one with "hair" lol). 🅿️ Parking: To protect the natural environment, vehicles are no longer allowed to drive in. Park at the Keechelus Lake Trailhead parking lot (Discover Pass required) and walk. Go straight without turning until the road ends, then continue on the dirt path. Head toward the right front direction—you’ll easily spot the green "explosive hair" stump. The walk takes about 20 minutes. 🏝️ Gold Creek Pond Often called the "Jiuzhaigou of Seattle"! Great for visits year-round—each season has its unique beauty! Winter snowscapes and autumn foliage are especially stunning. On sunny days, there are plenty of picnic tables and chairs by the lake. You can also bring your own mat for a picnic. The trail is an easy, flat loop around the lake (~30 minutes, almost 0 elevation gain). The only downside: The restrooms here are very dirty and smelly! Better to use the restroom beforehand lol. 🅿️ Parking: Dedicated parking lot available (Northwest Forest Pass required). #SeattleSurroundings #Seattle #SeattleLife #SeattleWeekend #SeattleOutdoors #SeattleTravel #SeattleHiking #Nature
