Seattle's First Strawberries
Originally planned to go to Bailey Farm, but on the way, I saw recommendations saying Swan Trail Farms had better strawberries, so we made a last-minute change. š Strawberries: $4 per pound Currently, only the Sweet Sunrise variety has a decent number of ripe berries, but many are still unripe. Shuksan strawberries are sporadically ripe. Feels like itās better to wait another week or two for peak season. āØ Picking Tips: Avoid overly dark purple-red strawberriesāsome are overripe and taste bitter/astringent. Donāt pick white ones eitherātheyāre unripe and flavorless.
