Seattle's Kedai Makan|Mind-Blowing Malaysian Flavors!
Met up with friends in Capitol Hill and stumbled into this unassuming Malaysian spot—only to be utterly blown away! 😭 We ordered three dishes that left us speechless: 🍛 Nasi Lemak Ayam Malaysia's iconic "coconut rice bowl"! You can choose between chicken curry or rendang beef—we went with the latter (slow-cooked in coconut milk and spices, sounds heavenly, right? 😍). And oh boy, it delivered! The beef was fall-apart tender, soaked in a rich, aromatic sauce. Served with coconut rice, salted peanuts, crispy anchovies, sambal chili, egg, and cucumber—so many flavor combos to explore! 🍗 Chicken Satay A Southeast Asian classic! Juicy, perfectly grilled skewers with spot-on seasoning, paired with that creamy, nutty peanut sauce we all love. 🫓 Roti Babi Essentially a Malaysian pork stuffed flatbread. Fresh out of the pan, the crust was golden and crispy, while the filling—minced pork, mushrooms, and spices—was packed with umami. Came with pickled cucumbers and mustard greens (who knew Shanghai greens could taste so good pickled?!). Shoutout to my friend who studied in Malaysia—she saved us from menu confusion! 🥹 Later found out coworkers also love this place. Consensus? LEGIT. 📍 Kedai Makan Capitol Hill 1449 E Pine St, Seattle, WA 98122 #KedaiMakan #SeattleMalaysianFood #SeattleEats #CapitolHillFoodie #HiddenGem #NasiLemakLove #FoodieApproved #MustTry #ComfortFoodGoals
