🦪 Seattle's Must-Visit Century-Old Seafood Spot
Oyster Heaven at Taylor Shellfish! 😋 After being underwhelmed by the famous "hand-tossed seafood" near Pike Place last time, I opted for Taylor Shellfish this visit—and what a upgrade! With multiple locations (no weekend lines + street parking!), stellar service (hot towels post-meal!), and their own oyster farms (freshness guaranteed!), this place gives SF's Hog Island a run for its money. 🍽️ What We Devoured 🦪 Oysters (Daily Special - 6 Varieties) Washington-grown perfection—even fresher than Hog Island's! Maybe because Bay Area spots ship these same oysters? Either way, slurp-worthy. 🌟 Geoduck Sashimi Sweet, crisp, and shockingly affordable compared to Chinese restaurants. Each bite = a happy dance. 💃 🥣 Clam Chowder (Geoduck Edition) Not your heavy cream bomb—lighter, briny, with tender geoduck bits. 🦞 Seafood Stew (Thai-Inspired!) Good, but unexpected—coconut-curry broth instead of classic tomato. Dip their bread in it! 🦀 Cold Dungeness Crab Pre-seasoned (a tad salty) with a rich dipping sauce. Not bad, not mind-blowing. 🐟 Ceviche (Eye-Catching Options) Didn’t try but looked vibrant and fresh! ✨ Why It Shines ✅ Oyster supremacy—their star dish. ✅ Farm-to-table cred—visit their Shelton oyster farm for ultra-fresh bites! ✅ No-Parking-Stress Sundays at the Occidental location. Hot Tip: Skip Pike Place tourist traps—this is where locals get their shellfish fix. 📍 Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar (Hours: 8AM-9PM) 📌 410 Occidental Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104 Other Locations: 📌 1521 Melrose Ave 📌 124 Republican St Oyster Farm: 130 SE Lynch Rd, Shelton #SeattleEats #SeafoodLovers #OysterObsessed #PNWLife #TravelEats #NoTouristTraps #ShellfishHeaven
