Seattle's Trendy Dim Sum Spot! 🥟✨

It's funny how I never liked dim sum as a kid, but now I seek it out wherever I travel! From New York's Phoenix Garden to Boston's Hei La Moon, Chicago's MingHin Cuisine, and even Salt Lake City's New Golden Dragon – I've made it a mission to try them all. Now that I've moved to Seattle, of course I had to check out the local dim sum scene! This weekend, my friend and I visited the highly-recommended Triumph Valley in Shoreline. Compared to the East Coast spots I'm used to, this place feels more modern – you order via iPad, and their signature dishes are all creative, contemporary takes on dim sum. Personally, I still prefer the old-school vibe with carts rolling around – it just feels more lively and authentic. 🟣 Purple Gold Digger A must-try signature item! Didn't know what to expect, but it's essentially a molten salted egg yolk and purple sweet potato ball. The sweet potato is probably mixed with glutinous rice flour, giving it a nice chewy texture. The oozing center is pure happiness! A bit too sweet by the end though. 🦐 Crispy Tofu Skin Shrimp Roll The standout dish of the day! I've had tofu skin shrimp rolls at many places, but this was the first time trying a crispy version. The shrimp was plump and bouncy, and the tofu skin was fried to perfection – crispy yet not greasy. Loved it! 🐷 Wasabi Pork Tripe A must-order! Each piece of tripe is evenly coated with wasabi – one bite and the kick hits you right away! The onions and peppers add a touch of natural sweetness. Spicy first, sweet after – the perfect palate cleanser. 🥬 Jade Green Rice Noodle Roll Not as good as the shrimp roll, and more expensive. You can tell it's intricately made, and the concept is creative, but the flavor is just average. The shrimp wasn't very tender, the fried dough lacked chewiness, and overall it felt a bit heavy. 🍋 Lemon Char Siu Pastry Avoid! Way too sweet and greasy. Neither the filling nor the pastry was enjoyable. Hard pass! 🐥 Chicken Feet (Phoenix Claws) We didn't order the full dim sum trio (spare ribs, chicken feet, beef tripe), just the chicken feet this time. They were large and meaty, with a stronger savory sauce than I'm used to. Not bad. Overall, Triumph Valley has some highlights and the portions are decent. Maybe we ordered too many rich dishes, but we left pretty full yet still curious about other items on the menu. We'll be back to try more! 😋 Budget Foodie Rating: 3.5/5 – Not as amazing as expected, but worth another visit 💰 Price per person: $35 📍 Triumph Valley Shoreline 15323 Westminster Way N, Shoreline, WA 98133 #SeattleDimSum #SeattleEats #SeattleFoodie #DimSumReview #TriumphValley #ShorelineEats #ChineseFood #FoodieAdventure
