Seattle | The Tendon Bowl I Can’t Stop Eating
This place, Kohaku, specializes in tendon (tempura rice bowls). Their menu features a wide variety of options—and every single one is delicious! 💜 Classic Tendon Bowl Includes shrimp, vegetables, chicken, and fish. The tempura is fresh and perfectly crispy. The premium version even comes with eel 🍤. The bowl is already drizzled with sauce—different from the usual soy-based broth served at other Japanese spots. 💜 Salmon Tempura Bowl Unexpectedly amazing! Served with mayo, a soft-boiled egg, and fish roe. The salmon is crispy outside and tender inside—cooked just enough to stay juicy, not dry. 💜 Seasonal Tempura Bowl Also a great choice, featuring shrimp-stuffed shiitake mushrooms, scallops, oysters 🦪, and fish. A seafood lover’s dream! 💜 Steak Rice Bowl A solid option for meat lovers. The beef portion is generous and tasty, though it’s lightly seasoned. Paired with tempura, it can feel a bit heavy. 💜 Sashimi Bowl Both the steak and sashimi bowls come with tempura, but the sashimi bowl only includes small pieces of fish without any dipping sauce or wasabi. We had to ask for soy sauce. 🌟 Pro Tip: The tendon bowls can be a bit dry. For +$4, you can upgrade to include a pot of dashi broth to make ochazuke (tea-soaked rice). 🍵 Matcha The matcha is strong and rich. Served hot in a large bowl—a bit surprising but delicious 😌. 🤩🍨 Dessert is a Must-Try! Their soft-serve ice cream is incredibly smooth. The matcha flavor is intense, and the sakura version is also a win—topped with a sweet potato and white bean paste blend. 📍 Tendon Kohaku 233 106th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98004 #Seattle #JapaneseFood #SeattleFood #BellevueEats #Seattle#fooddiary#TendonKohaku#foodguide
