Seattle | Unexpectedly Delicious Tasting Menu š„¹
Itās hard to believe how long itās been since Iāve had a fine dining experience in Seattle that made me want to come back, and itās super easy to make a reservation⦠They call it New American, but from the presentation to the flavors, it feels like a wonderful blend of Japanese influences, very friendly to Asian palates, and the environment is nice too, with an old house thatās quite charming and has a bit of a serene tavern vibe. š The winter menu features a variety of mushrooms, each prepared with ingenuity. Just the fact that the truffle soup has finely chopped truffles without any truffle oil is a huge plus! The fried mushroom risotto is delicious, with a tempura-like feel but not at all greasy, and the crust is light. š The veal thymus is slightly fried, tender with a slight bitterness thatās fantastic for offal, paired with a unique salty fish-flavored sauce. š The scallops are perfectly seared, with what feels like a Gordon Ramsay-approved doneness! Doing a common dish well is actually very impressive, and the radish side is also very refreshing. š Major points for dessert! I havenāt had good desserts in Seattle restaurants before, and itās rare to see ones made with care. I always thought I just didnāt have a sweet tooth, but their offering was a pleasant surprise. The warm banana cake with rich chocolate ice cream and slightly caramelized sugar topping, balanced by the tangy passion fruit sauce, was both thoughtful and delicious! Even the side dish of little ice cream and fruit was great in both presentation and taste! āļø The downsides for me were that parking is really hard to find, and the portions arenāt that big? I was full, but as a meat lover, I felt like I didnāt get that meaty satisfaction (even though I was full). There was a vegetable soup that was very aromatic, but it was just a bitter vegetable soup⦠#Seattle #SeattleFood #Exploration #RestaurantRecommendation
