Seattle | Whale Watching from San Juan Island on a Small Boat

Today, Iget the tail end of whale watching season and went out to sea from San Juan Island to see orcas. I thought we might only see one or two, but we ended up seeing about ten! Twelve orcas live in these waters, often appearing in groups of three or four, spouting and jumping - so cute. I was snapping pictures so much my eyes were crossing, haha 😂 We booked the Whale Watch Tour with San Juan Safaris, which lasted about three hours. Besides orcas, they also took us to see sea lions and small animals on the island from a distance. It was very windy and cold at sea, so if you’re prone to feeling cold, you’ll need to be fully equipped with a hat, scarf, and gloves. The whale watching season for this year has come to an end, but the best time is from May to June and from September to October. It’s a fantastic experience! Thanks to Washington State for providing so many opportunities to get close to nature. 📷 Fuji X-T5, 70-300 #Seattle #Recommendations
