Visited Leavenworth near Seattle on the eve of Christmas Eve. The Christmas town atmosphere under the snow-capped mountains is magical and festive. We came early in the morning, and it was still quite crowded. Recommend Ludwig’s for their pork knuckle, sausages, and onion rings; they’re even better than the more famous Andreas. You can make a reservation in advance. Met a Santa Claus who warmly offered his blessings. The nearby Lake Wenatchee is incredibly beautiful, shrouded in mist, a perfect place to play in the snow.
