Seattle Day Trip: Ferries & City Views
Still beating jet lag, we headed out at 10 AM via Uber to Kerry Park. Unfortunately, the morning backlight was harsh 🌅—the Space Needle and skyline were veiled in glowing haze, so photos turned out moody rather than clear. Next stop: the ferry terminal ⛴️. As longtime Grey’s Anatomy viewers, we’ve always had a “drama-filtered” nostalgia for Seattle ferries. Round-trip fare was $11.05 for adults, $5.50 for seniors 65+. We hopped on a boat to Bainbridge Island. During the sail, the city skyline slowly receded against the blue water, with Mount Rainier standing snow-capped in the distance 🏔️—a breezy, scenic half-hour like a moving postcard. Without a car, there isn’t much to explore on foot around Bainbridge 🚶♀️, so we soon returned on the same ferry. For lunch, we tried Luke's Lobster near Pike Place Market: their classic trio roll (lobster, crab, shrimp) and a rich, warming lobster bisque 🦞—perfect comfort food! Later, at Target, we spotted a dedicated shopping cart elevator 🛒🛗—first time seeing one! Such a thoughtful, quirky detail. Day 2 in Seattle passed gently, framed by ferry horns, seafood warmth, and these little urban discoveries ⛅️. #Seattle #KerryPark #BainbridgeIsland
