Seattle Food Bliss Part 1 | Ate My Heart Out 🤤
Seattle has been feeding me SO GOOD lately—I’m in total food heaven 😍! Rondo will always have a special place in my heart 🥹—their food is consistently amazing, and I’ll never get tired of it! Their lobster roll (shoutout to Luke’s version 🦞) is *chef’s kiss*—the lobster meat is plump and fresh, stuffed in a buttery, toasty bun. Every bite is pure seafood joy, no skimping on the good stuff 😋! Ave’s breakfast spot is also my go-to for a solid morning meal ☀️—super reliable, never disappoints. Whether it’s fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon, or a hearty omelet, it’s the perfect way to kickstart the day 🥞! And let’s not forget the uni feast I had at home recently 🦐! Scored some super fresh uni that was caught the same day 🎣—total win! Then I popped by Uwajimaya to grab fresh wasabi and Ikura (salmon roe) 🛒. Opened and prepped the uni right away: rinsed it gently in ice salt water 🧂, then blotted it dry with kitchen paper to lock in that fresh flavor. Grated the fresh wasabi on the spot too 🌿—OMFG, the aroma was absolutely mind-blowing! Way better than the pre-made stuff! Paired the buttery uni with plump Ikura, crispy nori sheets, and perilla leaves 🥢—whipped up a bowl of ultimate satisfaction uni rice at home 🍚. Every bite was pure bliss, creamy and briny with a hint of wasabi kick… I ate until I was stuffed to the gills 😋! Ended up so full last night that I could barely walk (literally waddled around 😂), and there were still a few pieces of uni left. So today, I made uni fried rice for lunch 🍳. Honestly, using fresh uni for fried rice feels like such a waste of good ingredients 🥺. The uni’s delicate, buttery flavor gets lost when it’s cooked—nowhere near as amazing as eating it raw. Lesson learned: next time, I’ll stick to enjoying it in its purest form ✨! I used to think sushi and Japanese food were super hard to recreate at home 🤷♀️. But lately, I’ve realized that as long as you can get your hands on high-quality ingredients 🥇, you don’t have to splurge on fancy restaurants to enjoy authentic, delicious Japanese cuisine. Cooking it at home feels even cozier and more satisfying ❤️! #YummyILoveItWillEatAgain #SeattleFood #SeattleEats #SeattleFoodie #LobsterRoll #BreakfastFaves #UniLovers #HomeCooking #JapaneseFood #Uwajimaya
