Seattle Food Hunt | Mama Dough š„ | Pleasant Surprise Near 99 Ranch!
Stopped by a random small shop to grab a quick bite before shopping at 99 Ranchāand it turned out to be such a nice surprise š„! Originally, my teammate and I just wanted to try something new to fill our stomachs before hitting the 99 Ranch supermarket. We saw Mama Dough in Great Wall Mall making dumplings on the spot, so we decided to give it a go. We ordered: 1ļøā£ Dual Flavor Pan-Fried Dumplings (Three Delicacies + Pork & Chives) 2ļøā£ Lamb Pan-Fried Dumplings 3ļøā£ Shrimp Fried Rice First, letās talk about the pan-fried dumplingsātheyāre made in a typical Northern Chinese style, with a whole layer of crispy starch crust at the bottom š„. Itās fragrant, intact, and not overcooked at all. The filling is perfectly seasonedānot too salty or blandāand every bite bursts with juice š„! My teammate and I exchanged a silent nod after the first bite: This is good. Among the dual flavors, I prefer the Three Delicacies oneāitās fresh and not greasy. The Pork & Chives is also solid, no mistakes. The Lamb Pan-Fried Dumplings were ordered by my teammate (I donāt really eat lamb myself), but honestly, theyāre better than any lamb dumplings Iāve had elsewhere in Seattle š. They have the distinctive lamb flavor, but itās not overpoweringātotally acceptable. Whether you like it or not still depends on personal taste. The Shrimp Fried Rice isnāt particularly outstanding (it would be better if the rice grains were a bit crispier), but itās above average overall. We just ordered it extra to fill our bellies, and it doesnāt let the meal down. š Summary: If youāre near 99 Ranch / Great Wall Mall and craving hot Chinese food from a small shop, Mama Dough is worth a tryāespecially their pan-fried dumplings, which are really good. Next time I come shopping at the supermarket, Iāll probably come back for another serving and try their xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) š! #SeattleLife #SeattleFood #SeattleFoodHunt #SeattleWeekend #99Ranch #MamaDough #PanFriedDumplings #ChineseFood #GreatWallMall #SeattleEats #FoodSurprise #ShrimpFriedRice #SeattleLocalEats #InternationalStudentFood #WeekendFoodRun
