✨ Seattle Foodie Find | YumYumCafe | Rice Pot with Rice Eels
I’ve been seeing a lot of recommendations for the claypot rice at this place! But it was always too far, or I ended up at South Great Wall eating Spicy City. This time, I finally got to check it out while dropping a friend off at the airport. 📍 Yum Yum Cafe - 10850 Myers Way S There are parking spots out front, but not many. I went on a Saturday around 11:30 am and no one was seated yet. By the time I left, there were about three or four tables. If you’re worried, you can always call to see if you need a reservation. 🙂 🔸 Rice Pot with Rice Eels with Soup 💲38.99 It’s the priciest claypot rice! A small portion, enough for two people, but they’re quite generous with the amount of rice eels. The crust at the bottom of the claypot rice is the best! The accompanying soup is very fresh, with a strong white pepper flavor. Love it! 🔹 Lamb Stew 💲38 It’s on the pricier side for a meat dish, but personally, I think there could be more lamb. The taste is good, but not mind-blowing. I might not order it again next time. A friend from Guangdong recommended the shredded chicken, so I’m planning to try that next time. 🥬 Vegetable Soup with Pea Shoots 💲16 Ever since the price of pea shoots skyrocketed to $10 a pound, I always go for pea shoots when ordering vegetables (if they’re priced similarly to other veggies). The preserved egg with the pea shoots soup is delicious, but the portion of pea shoots isn’t large (which is reasonable). For two people, this was just the right amount of food, with a little bit of lamb stew left at the bottom. Including tip, it came to about $120💲. If you order other dishes, the per person cost might be a bit lower. Overall, I would come back again (if I’m heading south anyway) and I’m planning to try the shredded chicken and other claypot rice dishes next time. #SeattleFoodie
