Seattle Hainanese Chicken Rice | Ginger & Scallion
This restaurant evolved from the former Drunken Chicken in Wallingford. Their menu is simple—just five dishes—and this time, we tried everything except the Curry Style. 🍗 Drunken Style The standout dish! The chicken was tender with a delightful wine aroma that lingered pleasantly. Highly recommended! 🍗 Classic Style A bit ordinary—made with slightly dry chicken breast and minimal seasoning. It was passable when paired with ginger-scallion sauce and a dip of soy sauce. 🍟 Mary’s Chips Essentially roasted chicken skin. It arrived late, just as we were finishing our meal—likely because they only have one oven, and each batch requires considerable prep and baking time. 🥒 Cucumber Salad We added this after seeing it at another table. Simple but refreshing: cucumber slices dressed with sesame oil and a few goji berries. 📌 Note: The restaurant is still in its soft opening phase. If dining in, avoid the bar seating—the kitchen lacks proper ventilation, so the smell of cooking oil is quite strong. #SeattleFood #SeattleRestaurants #SeattleEats #SeattleLife #HainaneseChickenRice #SeattleNewRestaurant
