Seattle Restaurant Exploration ๐
Birthday Dining with Maximum Ambiance at Canlis Last weekend, we celebrated a birthday ๐ at Canlis and had a wonderful dinner. We booked a private room for two months in advance, which was very nice. We enjoyed our dinner while watching the sunset, a fantastic experience. The food was a mix of good and average, making it a restaurant that focuses on ambiance. The restaurant offers Valet parking ๐ ฟ๏ธ. ๐ We had reserved a private room for two on OpenTable. The room cost $200, with a$400 deposit required. The 5-course meal was $180 per person, with a dining time of three hours. The room was cozy, with background music, and two sides of glass offering different views. For autumn and winter, I recommend booking the 5:15 pm slot to see the sunset. There was also a Leica telescope ๐ญ in the room to view the scenery across the lake. ๐ท The cuisine is a Northwestern American specialty, blending American, European, and Asian dishes. ๐ฆช The appetizers were a cold plate of oysters, sashimi, and fried fish balls, which I loved. They also gifted us a grilled fish slice. ๐ฅ Next was sashimi with cream soup, served with bread that was soft and visually appealing. ๐ง The following dish was Sablefish and Eggplant Zurita. The fish ๐ was delicious, even with caviar, but the eggplant ๐ was rather ordinary. ๐ The main course was a bit of a letdown; the Halibut had a soy sauce and vinegar flavor, and the Mushroom Teriyaki had a strong Japanese soy sauce taste. ๐ฆ Then came the yuzu ice cream as a palate cleanser. ๐ฎ For dessert, we chose Mille Feuille and Vanilla Bean Parfait. The staff also gifted us a coconut ๐ฅฅ cake ๐ฐ to celebrate, which was quite good. I also ordered a ๐ฅ mocktail that tasted great. In summary, Canlis is a restaurant thatโs perfect for dating, birthday celebrations, and anniversary dinners, offering plenty of emotional value. However, if youโre only looking for great taste, it might not be the top recommendation. #Seattle #SeattleLife #SeattleWeekend #SeattleFood #SeattleExploration #SeattleDaily #TreasureRestaurantShare #canlis
